Congratulations for Emma to complete her first Patient and Public Involvment (PPI) advisory group meeting! Emma’s research focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in childhood epilepsy, and this meeting marks a vital step in ensuring her work is co-produced with those at its heart.

We are so proud to share that Kate handed in her PhD thesis! This is a huge achievement and the result of years of hard work. While we are sad to see her "fly the NEST" next week, we are excited to see her move on to a fantastic new role as a postdoctoral researcher. Kate has been a wonderful part of our team, and we wish her the very best in her next chapter!
Huge congratulations to Cheyenne for securing funding from the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund! This support will be vital for her upcoming data collection in primary schools. In addition to this success, Cheyenne has been busy championing community-led research by launching a new network for PhD students, and she hosted a fantastic kickoff event yesterday. We are so proud of her hard work and her commitment to making sure research is built around the voices of families and students.
Emma has recently completed a highly successful four-week clinical placement as part of her PhD, working alongside our industry partner vCreate and specialist teams at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and Evelina London. Throughout the placement, she shadowed world-leading experts in paediatric neurology and neurodevelopment, gaining hands-on experience in clinics and learning how video technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help doctors identify seizures earlier. Emma also contributed her skills to the eLIXIR project, helping to analyse data to better understand how epilepsy affects young children. We are incredibly proud of her hard work and are excited to see how she uses these new insights to support our families and improve clinical care through her work on the BEE study.
After a refreshing summer break, our team recently gathered for a lab social to catch up and welcome our new placement students: Malwina, Sophia, and Georgena. It was wonderful to have everyone back together to share holiday stories and kick off the new term with fresh energy.

Huge congratulations to Cheyenne for passing her upgrade viva on Friday. The examiners shared some incredibly positive feedback on her work, marking a major milestone in her PhD journey. We are so proud of her success and are excited to see her important projects continue to develop. What a fantastic way to head into the next phase of our research!
Huge well done to Emma for passing her PhD upgrade viva! Emma shared that she was "grilled in a good way," and the team is incredibly proud of how she handled the challenge.
